About

We found what's missing.

What if the hardest place you've ever been became the best teacher you've ever had?

You've probably noticed it too. Most growth happens in rooms built for comfort: good ideas, good coffee, nothing that actually tests you. So you leave with notes, and you come back the same.

What's missing is the moment that matters. The plan breaks, the weather turns, and you decide who you're going to be anyway. That's the moment the old version of you can't survive.

We went looking for it. We found it at altitude, in the desert, and at the edge of what people think they can do.

The Expeditions

The terrain does the teaching.

No Matter What Adventures are small-group leadership expeditions into places that don't negotiate: high passes, long desert, real weather. Out there, your title, your track record and your usual way of handling things stop working. That's the point.

Whether you're on a 14,000-foot summit at sunrise or crossing the Sahara on foot, every step is asking the same question: who are you when the old way doesn't work?

Sterling's story

We know this place because we've stood in it.

Sterling Hawkins

Sterling co-founded a tech company that reached a multi-billion dollar valuation and 700 employees around the world. Then the market crashed. The company went bankrupt. He moved back in with his parents, carrying six figures of personal debt.

For a while he did what most of us do. He kept going, pretended it was fine, and tried every strategy he knew. None of it worked, because the problem wasn't his strategy. It was who he'd been.

"That collapse was the best thing that ever happened to me. Not because it built character. Because it forced the one confrontation that changes everything: with who I'd been, and who I needed to become."

That confrontation became No Matter What. It's why these adventures exist.

Two decades of testing that belief — in boardrooms and in the field, through extreme physical challenges and experiences most people would call unnecessary suffering and Sterling would call necessary research — led to one conclusion. The threshold can be engineered. Not through strategy, harder work or a better framework. Through conditions. That's what these adventures are.

The Leaders

They lead every expedition from the front.

Brother and sister Sterling and Haviland Hawkins built No Matter What on one belief: commitment changes everything. Sterling has brought that message to stages around the world. Haviland designs the experiences that put it to the test.

Sterling Hawkins is an author, investor, entrepreneur, and keynote speaker who is globally recognized as a thought leader in personal and organizational growth. Founder of the No Matter What Movement, he shows people how to achieve the performance, results and fulfillment they want regardless of obstacles.

Sterling developed his methodology to learn from the painful collapse of his multibillion dollar startup involvement. He's since combined his business background, research, study and practice to come back and launch, invest in and grow more than 100 companies. He's taken that experience to work with C-level teams and leaders and speak on stages around the world. He's been featured in magazines like Forbes, Fast Company, The New York Times and Inc.

He believes that there is no growth without discomfort — and it requires courage, commitment, community and the cultivation of trust to move through the uncomfortable and uncertain and into breakthrough results. When he's not at home in Colorado, he may be out skydiving, swimming with sharks or adventuring with the No Matter What Movement.

Haviland Hawkins is an entrepreneur, strategist, and keynote collaborator who co-leads the No Matter What Movement alongside her brother, Sterling. Together, they design and lead immersive leadership retreats and adventures around the world — from the mountains of Peru to cultural immersions in Africa — each crafted to challenge limits, spark transformation, and inspire breakthrough results.

With a background in marketing strategy, operations, and transformational leadership, Haviland has worked with Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurs, and global organizations to drive both personal and organizational growth. Her expertise lies in translating bold ideas into actionable outcomes.

She believes growth requires courage, commitment, and community. Whether uniting executives across cultural barriers or guiding participants step by step on the Inca Trail, Haviland blends clarity, compassion and challenge to deliver breakthrough results.

The Group

A small circle, chosen over comfort.

You'll travel with a small circle of high performers who chose challenge over comfort. They're founders, executives and leaders who are used to being the strongest person in the room — and are ready to find out what happens when they aren't.

You won't be competing with each other. Out there, it's you against the version of you that stops.

The Return

Hard places change people.

You come home with more than photos. You bring back proof of what you're made of, a clearer way to lead, and a commitment you've already tested where it counted.

Who will you be on the other side?
